Cory R. Starr is a Special Effects and Weapons Coordinator in the State of Arizona – based in metro-Phoenix.

Mr. Starr began his career in motion picture special effects in 1989 with a prior background as an architectural model builder, telecommunications technician, and studies in aeronautical and mechanical engineering.  Under the tutelage of some of the major players in Special Effects, and many years of personal "studying," he has ever increased his knowledge and experience.

After amassing years of experience as a Technician Cory began to design, engineer, and perform special effects as a Coordinator – including explosives, pyrotechnics, fire, weapons, bullet hits, and atmospheric & mechanical effects.  Cory’s years of expert weapons work often garners him the utmost praise for his safety and attention to this otherwise very dangerous aspect of filmmaking.

Cory is both Federally and locally licensed to manufacture and use explosives - and most recently, was accepted into the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators (IABTI) for his work in manufacturing devices and facilitating training courses relevant to that industry.

Cory has worked on scores of projects, with nearly twenty years of experience under his belt – all without a single effects or weapons related injury or accident.
