Tell us a little bit about yourself. How did you get into acting?

Paul: I'm from Sacramento, CA where I was born and raised. Most of my family still lives there however I am now based in Los Angeles. I first became interested in drama in 7th grade. I was very shy and introverted and would NEVER have joined a drama class. But as fate would have it, the school changed my schedule and against my wishes put me in drama class. Luckily for me, the teacher was amazing and so supportive and there was a girl in the class that I immediately wanted to impress....so I stayed, and ended up signing up for 8th grade also.

Throughout High School I got involved in Theatre, Dance, Singing, Choir, basically anything that let me perform. After high school I transferred to San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, CA where I auditioned and got into a 2 year theatre training program. After that I transferred to UC Irvine where I received my BA in Drama. Since school I have basically pursued my career. From commercials to music videos to theatre to my main focus and love....FILM.

Are there any recent projects you’ve been involved in – places we may have seen you on television or film?

Paul: Let's see....recently I appeared on an episode of LA Forensics on court TV. Also I've got a few independent films out and available for purchase or rental at places like NetFlix, Blockbuster, or online. A Secret Handshake, Stranger in the Doorway, and being released soon, Cold Heart Canyon. But there are lots of things...and hopefully more soon!

Are you a fan of comics or “comic book films”? What are some of your favourites?

Paul: I'm a huge fan of comic books, always have been. I really first got interested in 6th grade or so. I was always a big reader but comic books were such a great escape. I also really gravitated to the ones where good was good and bad was bad. I loved the idea of heroes and hope. I still do today. Some of my favourites were Captain America (my favourite!! when are they going to do a movie?) Spiderman, Batman, Daredevil. And I still get excited whenever a new comic book movie is coming out!!

How did you hear about the production of “Paula Peril: Midnight is the Darkest Hour? What interested you about the project?

Paul: I actually was looking through audition notices and happened to see a name I recognized. Nitara (one of the producers) I had auditioned for her before and we had stayed in contact. So I sent her an email to see if I would be appropriate for any of the roles. After speaking with Andy they called me and I auditioned. I didn't have a lot of details on the project at the beginning but what I had read liked and after reading the script I really loved it and was excited to be involved!

You are going to be playing District Attorney Tompkins, a new character who does not appear in the comics. Who is he? What is his relationship to Paula Peril?

Paul: Tompkins is an interesting guy, a little bit of an enigma. He is the DA that Paula tries to get to help from, but things are complicated...I can't really say much without giving things away. However I will say, even though Tompkins doesn't appear in the comics I think fans will really dig him. He's one of those still waters run deep guys. And by the very end of the movie you'll understand!!
